In each rasp type, only the designated refill types are usable and interchangeable i.e. R-4 = R-4; SAT II = R-4-S II; R-115 = R-115 and Sat III = S-115. Fewer teeth per refill/segment result in stronger, more resistant teeth, but create a coarser texture. Therefore refills with fewer teeth are the right choice for truck tyres, EM tyres or tires which have been retreaded several times. More teeth per refill: smaller teeth create a finer texture. Therefore refills with more teeth are recommended where a finer texture is required for car, truck tyres etc. All refills can only perform at its best, when the rasp, pins and spacers are in proper condition. Tyres must be cleaned from foreign materials such as nails or stones. Follow recommendations of buffing machine manufacturer.
